Surf School (2006)

“Have you been reading those Hustlers I gave you?”

The Story:

Giving into pressure from his mom, lacrosse star Jordan (Corey Sevier) relocates midway through his senior year of high school from Maryland to Laguna Beach to gain more experience in the sport. Falling from the popular lacrosse guy to unpopular lacrosse guy in the eyes of the bevy of Californa surfer types at his new school, Jordan finds solace with the weirdos; the virgin, the goth chick and the punker. When the topic of a senior trip to Costa Rica taking place during the High School Surfing Championships arises, Jordan convinces the exhiled from attending group of misfits to ball up and head to the tropics to not only raise some hell, but to learn from former surf champion, Rip (Harland Williams), the ways of the wave and beat these jerkoffs at their own game to become the best surfers in the country in just two short weeks!

Book of Love (1990)

The Story:

Jack Twiller (Michael McKean) is on the verge of a divorce; however, when he gets a phone call from an old friend, he’s prompted to take his old yearbook off the shelf and reminisce on his childhood. He specifically goes back to the 50s, when he moved to a new town, where he was sure he was going to get his ass kicked just for being new. Instead, he instantly met Crutch (Keith Coogan), another neighborhood kid, who introduced him to Spider (Danny Nucci) and Floyd (John Cameron Mitchell); together, the friends go went high school, having plenty of fun along the way, while also learning some tough life lessons--mostly about love. 

Private School (1983)

"Bubba says we did it once and it was very good for both of us, but I was passed out I don't remember a thing.”

The Story:

The girls at Cherryvale Academy (where cherries go to be popped, apparently) are in the middle of another school year, which means its time to tease all of the boys and engage in catty rivalries. The main event finds Christine Ramsay (Phoebe Cates) facing off against Jordan Leigh-Jenson (Betsy Russell), as the latter has an eye for the former’s dough head boyfriend, Jim (Matthew Modine). Meanwhile, the boys at nearby Freemount Academy are constantly raising hell with their constant attempts to break into Cherryvale’s campus…and its inhabitants’ pants, of course!

Monika (1974)

"The models are all full figured. Do you like thick women?"
“No. But you don’t always have the choice.”

The Story:

Blonde and beautiful Monika (Gloria Guida) isn’t just turning 16 in two weeks, she’s also turning the heads of every male in town. While she is popular at school, Monika can’t seem to find a suitor to match her intelligence nor handle her sexual restraint. Wanting her first time to be special and realizing her current boyfriend Leo (Gianluigi Chirizzi) is a pig who doesn’t respect her, she sets her sights on her teacher, Bruno (Andrés Resino), who represents everything she believes a man should be; honest, artistic and sweet. Lurking around every corner is a deplorable lawyer named Moroni (Paolo Carlini), who is friends with Monika’s family and has no qualms with paying the skeevy pimp Leo for sexual favors from the high school girls he beds. It seems the whole town sees Monika on top of their self-indulgent sexual sundae with infatuation fuelled by what’s between her legs instead of what’s in her heart. 

One Crazy Summer (1986)

"Hey, Hoops, you ever notice how people die in alphabetical order?”

The Story:

Graduation day is upon us at Generic High School, where Hoops McCann (John Cusack) and his buddy George Calamari (Joel Murray) are about to walk across the stage before jumping right into summer break. After they pick up aspiring singer/songwriter Cassandra (Demi Moore), who is on the run from a biker gang, they board a ferry to Nantucket, where a bizarre cast of characters awaits. Among them is a sleazy Beckersted family, who intend to claim the estate of Cassandra’s grandfather and turn into the site of a new restaurant.

Murmur of the Heart (1971)

“Midget! Wanna see a man's dick?”

The Story:

Fourteen year-old Laurent (Benoit Ferreux) is being shown the way of the world by his older brothers, a charmingly devious couple of 18-or-sos that carouse, gallivant with women, steal money from their mother and pull pranks to pass the time in 1954 France. Their mother, Clara (Lea Massari) shows an obvious shine to the virtuoso in comparison to the other boys and has a tendency to be juvenile herself. Laurent is well on his way in following in his brother’s footsteps; he drinks, smokes and is naturally curious about the opposite sex. Figuring it’s about time for Laurent to become a man, they take him to a brothel for his first sexual experience only to barge in before the act was finished. Another Chevalier boys prank. Laurent goes off to summer camp, but comes down sick with a heart murmur, to which he and his mother must leave home and stay at a hotel to receive treatments. A booking misunderstanding causes them to have to share a room together, which ultimately leads to the two of them having their own sexual encounter.

Rock N' Roll High School (1979)

"Things sure have changed since we got kicked out of high school! "

The Story:

To say the kids of Vince Lombardi High School are out of control would be an understatement; these rock n’ roll loving party animals sent their last principal straight to the loony bin. Led by Riff Randell (P.J. Soles), the student body must now endure the wrath of new principal, Miss Togar (Mary Woronov) who is on a crusade to rid the teenagers of their beloved rock music, especially The Ramones (Joey, Marky, Johnny and Dee Dee), the legendary rock group that just so happens to be coming to town for a performance. Intent on getting the band to take a look at a song she wrote for them, Rock N’ Roll High School, Riff waits in line for three days and snags tickets only to have them taken away by Togar who subsequently arranges for all rock albums to be burned. Hell bent in leather, Riff and her buddy Kate (Dey Young) plot to make The Ramones honorary students of Lombardi High and take over the school to oust Togar with a bang!

Joysticks (1983)

"The kids play with their joysticks day in and day out; jerking them back and forth, sweating on them and they don’t even clean them off when they’re through!"

The Story: 

With chicks hanging off each arm, Jeff Bailey (Scott McGinnis) runs River City’s arcade, the local headquarters for teens to get away from their parents and trade quarters for video game action. Other than rare altercations with the moronic punker, King Vidiot (Jon Gries) and his followers, everyone from the cute little rich girl to the hapless nerd to the unkempt fat man get along in perfect harmony amidst the faint glows of the game machines. That is, until bellyacher Rutter (Joe Don Baker) gets a stick up his ass because his young daughter keeps hanging out at this misunderstood establishment he considers a cesspool of depravity. Along with his duo of goofball nephews, they vow to shut down the arcade and bring good moral standing back to the misled youth that video games are tarnishing.

The Stoned Age (1994)

"Tack, you cack!"

The Story:

Word on the street is Crump's brother (Michael Wiseman), well known across town for almost killing a Samoan dude, is back in town... and he's got some ladies lined up down by the Frankie Avalon place in Torrance Beach. As the story spreads like wildfire, two long-haired stoners named Joe and Hubbs (Michael Kopelow and Bradford Tatum) cruising their Blue Torpedo Volkswagon learn from a goofball named Tack (Clifton Collins Jr.) that these chicks aren't just any chicks... they're fine chicks! After hitting Tack up for his share of gas money (all of it) and immediately ditching his ass at the station, the boys hit the road in search of the fine ones. Little do they know that a new word is passing through the grapevine and the tough as nails Crump's brother has found out these scruffy high school kids are trying to worm his chicks!

Saved by the Bell: Hawaiian Style (1992)

"I’m Andrea Larson… watch out, Zack or you’re going to walk into a wall!"

The Story: 

Quaint vacation spot, the Hawaiian Hideaway is the destination of the Saved by the Bell gang, who are spending a well deserved summer away from Bayside High, books and teachers at Kelly’s (Tiffani Thiessen) grandfather’s hotel. Upon arrival, they learn that a greedy hotel conglomerate is frothing at the mouth to get their hands on the fledgling Hideaway, just weeks away from foreclosure. Moments after arriving from the mainland, the teens run into their Principal, Mr. Belding (Dennis Haskins), whom is the figurehead in charge of booking hotels and arranging activities for a principal’s convention taking place on the island. Sensing a way to get Kelly’s grandfather back on his feet, they sabotage the tour’s service at the ritzy, immoral hotel and convince Belding to bring his group to the Hideaway, where they’ve all dedicated their services free of charge to provide the cozy, down to earth retreat with necessary staff. Left without much of a choice, Belding agrees as 40 principal’s vacations are either going to be ruined or saved by the same type of scheming brats they longed to get away from!

The First Time (1968)

"You guys are acting like a bunch of sex fiends!"

The Story:

Kenny’s (Wes Stern) dad has a job that requires a lot of relocating, so he soon finds himself forced to move when his dad takes a new position. This separates Kenny from his buddies, Mike and Tommy (Ricky Kelman and Wink Roberts), whom he still stays in touch with by writing letters. One of his correspondences mentions a Canadian whorehouse he frequents, so the Mike and Tommy hop on a bus with the intentions of joining their buddy on his exploits. The only problem is that said exploits are entirely fictional, so the three guys head to the Great White North in search of a house of ill repute that doesn’t even exist; instead, they find a normal girl (Jacqueline Bisset) whom they mistake as a prostitute.

West Side Story (1961)

"Juvenile delinquency is purely a social disease.”
“Hey, I got a social disease!”

The Story:

In 1950s Manhattan, a couple of street gangs are perpetually at war; one is the Jets, a white gang led by Riff Lorton (Russ Tamblyn). The other is the Sharks, a group of Puerto Rican immigrants (dubbed “PRs”), who are headed by Bernardo Nunez (George Chakiris). At a dance attended by both gangs, Tony (Richard Beymer), a former Jet, shows up as insurance against an impending scrap; instead of finding a fight, however, he eyes Maria (Natalie Wood), who happens to be Bernardo’s sister. The two instantly fall in love and meet with disapproval from their fellow gang members. Their romance is also met with tragedy, as tensions between the warring faction come to a head at a violent, deadly rumble. 

Footloose (2011)

"This is our time.”

The Story:

After the death of his mother, Boston native Ren McCormick (Kenny Wormald) moves down south to Bomont, Gerogia to live with his aunt and uncle. The culture shock is jarring enough, but it’s made even more so by the town’s ultra-conservative laws, which feature a ban on loud music, a mandatory curfew for teenagers, and an ordinance against dancing. These laws were put into place three years beforehand at the behest of the evangelical town preacher (Dennis Quaid), who finds himself personally at odds with Ren when the newcomer courts his daughter (Julianne Hough).

Footloose (1984)

"I tell you what I'd like to do - I'd like to fold a Playboy centrefold into every one of Reverend Shaw's hymnbooks!”

The Story:

Due to an accident five years ago, an evangelical preacher (John Lithgow) has convinced the town of Beaumont to ban dancing and rock music, the twin tools that the devil uses to cause fornication. New kid in town Ren McCormick (Kevin Bacon) is aghast, and, with the assistance of his new best friend (Christopher Penn) and the preacher’s daughter (Lori Singer), decides to rebel and show the town the benefits of cutting loose and getting footloose (the theme song is now stuck in your head--you‘re welcome).

Heathers (1989)

“Dear Diary, my teen-angst bullshit now has a body count.”

The Story:

Veronica Sawyer (Winona Ryder) belongs to a clique of “Heathers”: there’s Heather Chandler (Kim Walker), Heather Duke (Shannen Doherty) and Heather McNamara (Lisanne Falk). These three holy terrors dominate the school’s social scene with an iron fist; as Veronica watches their reign of terror unfold, she begins to realize she was much happier before she was popular. Coincidentally, a rebellious new student, Jason Dean (Christian Slater), shows up and similarly sees through all of the bullshit and befriends Veronica. The two plot revenge on the Heathers, and while Veronica just wants to pull innocent pranks, J.D. has much more malicious and deadly intentions.

The Van (1977)

"There ain't a woman around who don't love the sound of a zipper comin' down...”

The Story:

Bobby (Stuart Goetz) has just graduated from high school and has built up a decent amount of savings from working at the local car wash. College fund? No way! A hapless geek, Bobby instead blows it all on the sweetest van in town with the singular, express purpose to get laid. The object of his affections is the super hot Sally (Connie Hoffman), but she’s dating badass douche Dugan Hicks (Steve Oliver). As he embarks on a summer of debauchery with his buddies (and his van), Bobby discovers the joys of fat chicks, Lucky Lager-fuelled partying, and, perhaps, true love with the meek but sweet Tina (Deborah White).

Beach Party (1963)

Yeah, we're surfin' all day and we're swingin' all night!
Vacation is here! Beach Party tonight!"

The Story: 

Frankie's (Frankie Avalon) got it all planned out: even his prudish brunette sweetheart Dolores (Annette Funicello) can't say no when he's got her all to himself after some fun in the sun at a romantic beach house. A foolproof plan, indeed... until he carries her across the threshold into their little hideaway and trips on a pile of tired, partied-out teenage guys. A step ahead of him once again, Dolores has invited all their friends to the beach for some surf, sun and maybe a little s-e-x for everyone except poor Frankie. A playful jealousy arises between the two lovebirds and they begin using their attractions for other guys and gals against the other, with Frankie falling for the horny, Hungarian hostess, Ava (Eva Six) and Dolores taking a shine to the much older Professor Sutwell (Robert Cummings). Sutwell is an anthropologist studying developmental biology, in lame man's terms, he's basically studying the mating rites of sixties California girls and boys. Will Frankie and Dee-Dee go their separate ways or will Frankie finally say those three big words that every girl weeps to hear and every guy weeps to say?

Zapped! (1982)

The Story:

Barney Springboro (Scott Baio) is a geeky high school kid who holes himself up in the science lab on a daily basis. A freak accident results in him gaining telekinetic powers, which he begins to use for his own personal gain. Along with his buddy Peyton (Willie Aames), he combats bullies and tries to score with girls, all while learning to harness his strange gift.

There Goes My Baby (1994)

"I realized our time of growing up together was over…”

The Story:

Class valedictorian Mary Beth (Lucy Deakins) narrates the story of the “last days of paradise” in 1964, when she and her friends graduated high school and were thrust into the tumultuous world of adulthood. As everyone’s favorite local dive (Pop’s) prepares to shut down and local DJ legend “The Beard” howls on AM airwaves for the last time, the large group of friends deal with their own personal issues as the Vietnam conflict and racial tensions begin to spiral out of control.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

The Story:

Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) has already missed eight days of school this year, so what’s one more? He feigns an illness that easily deceives his parents (but not his sister), so he’s left home to his own devices. He soon ropes in his finicky friend Cameron (Alan Ruck) and organizes the high school equivalent of a jailbreak to free his girlfriend (Mia Sara). The trio then bomb around Chicago, all the while eluding and frustrating the school’s dean of students, Ed Rooney (Jeffrey Jones).
